Sao Paulo, Brazil; 6-13 August
The Summer School 2023 was held at the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil, led by the S4 (Summer School on Speleothem Science) Team, with support from PIRE-CREATE. During this week students learned how speleothems can inform us about past climate variability and change.
The school was primarily oriented toward Ph.D students, but UAlbany ENV undergraduate students also attended. Interdisciplinary and intercultural synergies were an important part of the mission of this Summer School.
Participating in this PIRE CREATE Summer School was a unique opportunity to become a scientist for a week in a multi-cultural international context in the fascinating country of Brazil. Airfares, hotels and meals for UAlbany participants were covered by PIRE-CREATE .
Further impressions from this summer school can be obtained from the Summer School Gallery.
